Backup and
Recovery procedures are established to take care of Data Security in case of
hardware failure or corruption of Data and reduce the downtime to a minimal in
case of any disaster.
- Multiple levels of backup are taken to ensure
point of time recovery at any time.
- Complete operating system backup is planned
on the first Thursday of every month. The SAP system and the Database are
shutdown and there will be tentative down time for approximately 3-4 hrs.
- Daily online database backup is planned
during off peak hours. SAP will be still available during the backup and
operatable.
- Logs are archived on to disk in another file
system and daily incremental filesystem backup is planned.
- Log files are archived under oraarch
directory in file system.
- The archive log files backup is ensured
during the daily incremental file system backup, scheduled through VERITAS
backup.
- All tapes are properly labeled for correct
identification.
