1.A client is a commercially
self-contained unit.
2.Technically each client is
identified by a three-digit number, this number is used as a key in tables
containing application data.
3.This type of table is said to be
client-specific.
4.
In addition to client-specific table there are also cross-client tables, the contained in it is equally valid
for all client. The content of these table affects the
entire system.
New client
creation T_code SCC4
Once a new
client is created we can log in to it by SAP* user with password pass, which defaultly comes as client is created.
The new client
does not contain any client-specific data, and in particular it contains
no user data.
Now we do a
client copy to get the necessary data to achieve its operability.
Client copies
are of three different types,
1) Local client copy.
(within the same system)
2) Remote client
copy. (between the different systems, by RFC)
3) client transport.
(between the different systems, by TMS)
To avoid the inconsistencies,no work should
be done in either the target client or the
source client
during the copy process.

explained as we move down
